Dubai Adventures: Day 1.2

Whew, finally back from a day of fun! I can’t wait to share the exciting time I had at Atlantis The Palm, but I’ll post updates in chronological order. 🙂

So after checking in yesterdday, our first destination was the gigantic shopping centre – Dubai Mall.

Dubai Mall is humongous. There’s no way you can browse every shop in the mall unless you spent one whole day shopping till your legs cry for a break. I would dare to say that it’s probably 3 times the size of the Mid Valley Megamall, which is one of the largest shopping centres in Malaysia (and one that I already have trouble navigating in!)

They even have an indoor aquarium. VERY COOL.

We settled on More Café for lunch as we were looking for a not-so-expensive option!

They have a floating table housing all their utensils. Cool stuff.

Eggs benedict for AED 39. :D It tastes really, really good.

Then we shopped, shopped and walked around!

Dubai really has a lot of land and money to build these eye candies in Dubai Mall. D:

And our first proper tourist attraction – Burj Khalifa. I’ll let the pictures do the talking, though please excuse my poor camera’s performance.

View from the 124th floor - the only floor visitors can go to. It's breathtaking!

Another view. As you can see, it was quite hazey that day!

At night we visited the Dubai water fountain – as it was dark I couldn’t really take photos of it, but it’s really an awesome, majestic experience.

The water fountain patterns synchronizes with the music pretty well!

We went to Al Karama, a smaller neighbourhood, at night to randomly walk around and hunt for food.

Grilled Super Sub Sandwich meal, AED14. That’s about S$5, and it’s really filling! (And when I say it’s filling, it is.)

And we’re done for the day! It’s really a good experience so far, even though I haven’t really stepped into unfamiliar territory like the desert. Can’t wait to share my experiences today at the water park. DOLPHINS!!
